Amalia & Bobby’s ‘Roman Holiday’

Amalia Fuentes and Romeo Vasquez have their ‘Roman Holiday’ in 1966 in Ikaw…ang Gabi at ang Awit!, with the subtitle Arrivedercci Roma. The movie was Lea Productions’ fourth anniversary offering, hyped as ‘A heart-warming story of a woman’s faith…that led to a man to the path of God!’

Amalia and Bobby were briefly married and had a daughter, Liezl Muhlach Sumilang-Martinez. Off-cam, Amalia is Amalia Amador Muhlach and Bobby is Ricardo Alandy Sumilang.

Liezl is happily married to Albert Martinez.

Amalia and Bobby started their movie careers in the late ’50s with Sampaguita Pictures, where they co-starred in light comedies and dramas. — RKC
