As she turns 60 tomorrow, Nov. 3, and as accomplished as she already is, Batangas Gov. Vilma Santos (who will forever be Ate Vi to her followers) still wants to do more than 60 things, 20 of them she listed down before she and her family and close friends left for a much-deserved holiday (more on that soon).
She has won all the acting awards there is to be won (including a Best Actress Grand Slam); has proven her mettle as a public servant (now on her third and last term as governor…and what higher position could she be eyeing?); and stands tall as the perfect wife to Sen. Ralph Recto and mother to sons Luis/Lucky Manzano and Ryan Christian.
So what field is left for her to explore, what more horizons to scale, what heights to plant a banner on?
These:
To have more faith in God
To share my blessings with the needy if and when needed
To maintain close family ties
To have more time with my 88-year-old mom
To guide my sons always on the right path
To be supportive of my husband’s undertakings
To make my Vilmanians real proud of me
To help make my constituents live comfortably
To serve my constituents in all honesty and integrity
To play the role of a man (like what Linda Hunt did in Year of Living Dangerously)
To direct another telemovie
To work with more of the new breed of actors
To visit Australia
To experience zipline ride
To end my term as governor with flying colors
To govern Batangas peacefully and faithfully
To have my sisters and their families see more of the Philippines (what a beautiful country!)
To have a clean bill of health always
To maintain an ideal time management, and
To have a daughter…oops! But at 60, how can I? Hahahaha!!!
