Baron still grappling with inner conflicts
Baron Geisler is one of the most gifted actors in show business, but also one of the most controversial. We’ve all been privy to his struggles, his legal battles, and the ups and downs of his life.
Baron recently returned to ABS-CBN, where he attended the press conference for the second season of I Dare You. He is a featured guest in one of the episodes of the reality-serye, which premiered recently. Aside from I Dare You, Baron also has several movie projects in the can. One of these is the indie film Sapi, showing first week of November and directed by Brillante Mendoza. He also appears in the indie film Waves which was shot in Palawan. Then this December, Baron will also be seen in E.R. Ejercito’s Boy Golden which has been accepted as an entry to the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF). In the latter film, Baron plays an albino gangster.
He’s been through a lot, but his love for his job — for acting — is what keeps Baron going. On his own, he also listens to audiobooks by famed Christian authors like Joel Osteen to fill his head with positive messages. The support provided by his family is also important, as is that of his non-showbiz girlfriend who reminds Baron to take his medication and has been by his side throughout. The two have been a couple for about a year now, although they’re not living together. Baron still lives with his mother in Quezon City.
While he seems to be okay on the outside, he still has a lot of inner conflicts. “Medyo nagkaroon ako ng inferiority complex (because of people who judge me), but I’m still working on becoming more relaxed, at peace and confident,†says Baron.
Each day is still a struggle, but he’s not giving up on getting better. “I’m still trying, I’m not giving up,†he shares. “I’m just taking things one day at a time. Working out helps me a lot, helps me focus, helps me think better and think healthier.â€
Work goes a long way in keeping him sane. He’s glad to have projects to focus on. “I’m doing different things,†he says. “I love acting, it challenges me, it scares me, but at the end of the day it really fulfills my spirit, my heart.â€
He is honest enough to realize that he still has a long way to go. At the same time, he knows that there are people who, to this day, doubt his capacity to turn over a new leaf. Baron begs for their understanding and support.
He asks only for a chance. Baron says that a lot of things are different now, and he’s ready to face life and work. When asked why people should believe him this time despite his past record, Baron says, “I think I’m getting older, and my priorities are so much different now than they were.â€
“I’ve been thinking of settling down, having my own house and really being independent, not living in my mom’s house anymore. I’m 31 and still a mama’s boy. It’s time for me to grow up and stop being a brat. But I want people to give me that chance and not doubt me,†he adds.
As the saying goes, everyone deserves a second chance, always a second chance.
