MANILA, Philippines – Rufa Mae Quinto’s successful career gives an impression that having a love life is least of her priorities at the moment.
Rufa affirms this in a recent interview, saying “hindi ko na muna iniisip ‘yan, mangyayari ‘yan. E, ang tagal ko nang iniisip, hindi naman dapat iniisip pala.â€
“Kasi hindi lang naman ‘yon ang buhay, there’s more to that. What’s important of course is my family. I’m still young naman na I think I have the time to find my destiny,†she added.
Of course, at her age of 35, Rufa Mae dreams of having her own family someday. She, however, believes that it’s just not the right time yet for her “Mr. Right†to come.
“I know mayro’n dyan pero hindi ko siya yung feel na feel. Kasi ang dami kong gustong gawin, pero ibig ko sabihin I’m open kasi hindi naman habang buhay pag-aasawa lang,†she said.
“Pero yun ang pinagdadasal ko na sana kung may dumating siya na talaga yun,†Rufa Mae added.
Rufa Mae’s been single for five years now, and she admits that her family’s been encouraging her to settle down and have kids.
But after being the breadwinner of her family, she says “Ngayon pa lang ako nagdadalaga, e, sa totoo lang. Kasi I’m working nga, at least ngayon nababalanse ko na.
“Kaya nga mas matanda itsura ko nung bata ako kaysa ngayon, kasi nga I’m taking care of everybody. So ngayon I’m taking care of my happiness,†she continued.
Meanwhile, the actress-comedienne has two ongoing shows at the moment – TV5’s new primetime series “Positive†and GMA’s gag show “Bubble Gang†which is celebrating its 18th anniversary.
Though she doesn’t have an exclusive contract with any networks, Rufa is happy to be able to work with different stars, from different networks.
“Parang ngayon lang ako naging free,†she said.
“Parang alam mo yun, hindi lang yung may sarado kang contract. Parang as an artist, you can decide, yung freedom, may advantage din. Okay siya kasi masaya ako, sobrang saya ko,†she ended.
