Enchong denies rumored sex video

MANILA, Philippines – Kapamilya star Enchong Dee denied that he is the subject of a yet to be released video scandal.

Earlier this month, Enchong was rumored to have a sex video with gay online celebrity Sebastian Castro.

Both Enchong and Sebastian already reacted to the news separately via their accounts on the microblogging site Twitter.

“Astig, may video scandal pala ako?? Paki post naman para mapakita ko sa magulang ko habang nasa bakasyon kami…bilis ang daming naghahantay,” the 24-year-old actor tweeted on Oct. 3.

Speaking to the press during ABS-CBN’s announcement of the upcoming Richard Gomez-Dawn Zulueta soap opera “You’re My Home” on Thursday, Oct. 16, Enchong said he was not offended that he was rumored to have a sex video.

He added that he’s giving the people claiming he has a sex video a chance to show the scandal because “whatever it is, I’m not scared na lalabas siya because I’m not the kind of person who does that.”

He also said, “As far as I can remember, ang scandal is something you’re not proud of. So sabi ko, ‘Wala naman akong naaalalang ginawa ko na I’m not proud of’.”

Nothing to prove

Enchong explained he does not know who Castro is. Castro, who became an online celebrity thanks to his Youtube music video “Bubble,” also denied the issue on his Twitter account.

“To the person na affected sa ganito, I don’t know him personally pero pasensiya na,” he said.

“And at the same time, sa mga taong naglalabas, hindi ko akalain na ganun kababa ang tingin ninyo sa akin,” Enchong added.

The Kapamilya actor has been the subject of rumors speculating about his sexuality in the past. But Enchong said he doesn’t mind.

“I’m not really offended or I’m not really worried about it,” he said. “Ang tagal-tagal ko na dito, bakit puro ganun lang?”

The actor added he doesn’t see the need to prove anything to anyone. “I’m not the kind of guy na manggagamit ng tao para mapatunayan ko sa kanila kung sino ako.”

Enchong is part of the upcoming family drama “You’re My Home.” The show serves as a reunion of sorts for Richard Gomez and Dawn Zulueta, who starred in the 2012 soap opera “Walang Hanggan.”

“You’re My Home,” which will also star Shaina Magdayao and Iza Calzado, among others, is slated to premiere first quarter of 2014.
