Mikee Cojuangco-Jaworski: We can find purpose at any age

MANILA, Philippines – Actress and equestrian Mikee Cojuangco-Jaworski admits that somehow she can see how age could be a big factor in her industry — both in showbiz and sports.

She related this during her Olay Conversations with Boy Abunda, which was previewed Wednesday night, Oct. 16.

“Well, in most sports there are deadlines,” she started. “When you reach a certain age it just happens that the younger are faster, jump higher, a little bit stronger, and has less things wrong with their bodies. So in that sense it’s very real”

“Looking at it also as an actress, you come to the point when you’re no longer the love interest — you play the mother of the love interest,” Mikee added.

Given mother roles is not a big issue with Mikee, like in her 2011 TV series “Magic Palayok” where she played as the mother of Angeli Nicole Sanoy’s character Cookie.

She actually relates to it, given that she’s a mom to three boys namely, Robbie, Rafael Joseph Raf and Renzo, with her husband Robert “Dodot” Jaworski Jr.

But Mikee’s aware that aging could be a big issue with a lot of women, all because they feel less about themselves.

Though she emphasizes that this should not be the case saying, “[at] any age we can find purpose, and what’s this age anyway?”

“Why do people think that because you’re in a certain age you are not as useful or attractive as someone younger? I mean, when in fact you can be more,” she said.

Some may think that it’s easy for Mikee to say this since she’s still looking young despite her age of 39.

That’s why she shares that aside from using the brand that she’s endorsing, what adds to her youthful glow and fresh look is “I have an amazing husband who takes care of me. And I have three boys who are growing so fast, who’s lives I’m very much part of.”

“So I think that keeps me young also because I play basketball with them, we go to the beach with them, we go to the farm with them,” Mikee also said.

But above all, she adds: “I think it’s really more what you feel inside that really radiates and shows on the outside.”

Having said that, by just looking at Mikee, you’ll believe when she said — without thinking twice — that she does have everything.
