MANILA, Philippines- Actress-TV host Gelli de Belen says she’s still adjusting to her new co-host Christine Bersola-Babao.
This is the first time that the two will be working with each other, that’s why they’re still on the “getting-to-know†stage.
“‘Yong sa isa’t isa, I think sanay na kami mag-adjust kung sino ang ka-co-host namin kahit anong show,†she said at the presscon of “Face The People†on Friday afternoon.
“Uhm, it’s part of the job to adjust with each other, hinuhuli pa rin namin kung ano ang takbo ng isip nung isa para mag-jive talaga kaming dalawa, and we’re on the process of that now.â€
So far, they’ve already taped two episodes of the show.
Meanwhile, Gelli said compared to the defunct show “Face to Face,†“Face the People†will take a different tack in resolving their guests’ problems.
Instead of confronting the person they’re agitated with, the guests will be challenged to deal with their problems by battling with themselves.
But not totally by themselves because each guests will be guided by their "life coaches," including Atty. Karen Jimeno, Jarret Pulido, Claude Sta. Clara, and Teresa Garcia.
With her experience in “Face to Face†and the two episodes they taped for “Face the People,†Gelli realized that “truth is stranger than fiction."
“‘Yong capacity ng isang tao para magtiis, para magmahal, para protektahan ang mahal nila sa buhay, e, kaaiba. Higit pa sa napapanood natin sa teleserye.â€
Though closely similar with “Face to Face,†Gelli hopes that the viewing public will be able to realize the difference between the two shows.
“Hindi naman kailangan palaging gano’n ang nangyayari para maresolba ang mga problema, sana makuha namin ang interest nila. Kasi usually naka-catch ang audience kasi nakikita mo may nag-aaway, e, kahit naman ako, e," she said.
“Sana here pa lang, the problem itself, the challenge itself na hinaharap ng bisita namin would be enough for them to watch. Because lahat tayo may kanya-kanyang pinagdadaanan sa buhay, mayro’n at mayro’ng may relate sila.â€
“Face the People†will be airing on October 14, Monday-Friday, 4:30 in the afternoon at the “Everyday All the Way†block of TV5.
