MANILA, Philippines- Two months after Ogie Alcasid transferred to TV5, he is already busy with three projects for the Kapatid network.
Ogie said he is feeling "positive pressure" and he doesn't feel stressed with the heavy load because of the three new project.
"Iba yung stress, e. I don’t feel stressed,†he said in an interview last Friday.
Ogie said he is glad to be contributing what he can, especially in creating awareness about the network's new shows.
So far, he’s working on three shows: "The Mega and the Songwriter," "Tropa Mo Ko Unli," and the upcoming "The Gift."
The singer-actor said he is happy to do three shows with different genre.
"we’re offering something that other networks aren’t offering at this time," he said.
Ogie talked about "The Gift," his first primetime series where he is the headliner.
“Hindi siya formula, in fact hindi namin alam kung magwo-work,†he says about the show. “Pati ‘yong atake sa paggawa ng story, ‘yong dialogue, ina-assume namin na ang audience namin matalino. Do’n ako natutuwa," he said.
He added: “Then apat lang kami, hindi kami marami na puro sikat. Hindi talaga kami lalaban in terms of bigness, hindi kami lalaban in terms of cast, in terms of scope, lalaban kami sa simplicity ng kuwento namin. For me it’s a gift.â€
Though busy working, Ogie said he makes sure that he still has time for his family.
He has two daughters, Leila and Sarah, with his ex-wife Michelle van Eimeren; and a son, Nathaniel James, with wife Regine Velasquez.
He said that on October 13, he will fly to Australia with his mother and father for Leila's 16th birthday.
Ogie also relates that his eldest daughter already has a boyfriend, and this somehow felt weird for him.
Ogie already met the guy and was glad that his daughter is "chill" about the relationship.
“Kasi kapag nakikita mo 'yung anak mo na parang mamamatay sa pagka-in love, nakakatakot. Siya chill lang, may boyfriend, they go out, ganyan.â€
While for his son Nathaniel, he makes sure that at the end of the day he still has time to play with him. This is the reason why he doesn’t go out with friends and colleagues as much as before.
Aside from being a dad, a singer-songwriter and an actor, Ogie is also busy being the president of the Organisasyon ng Pilipinong Mang-Aawit (OPM) and with his restaurant business that recently opened a new branch along Katipunan in Quezon City.
