Cosmic hunks: Another sexy, sizzling Bachelor Night

MANILA, Philippines - Cosmo didn’t disappoint as its annual event Cosmo Bachelor Bash presented another night like no other last Tuesday. Leading the Cosmo Bachelor Batch 2013 were Kapuso stars Alden Richards, Tom Rodriguez, Aljur Abrenica and Dennis Trillo.

The all-female crowd was transported to an all-male Bachelor University whose every nook and cranny was populated by cute freshmen and sophomores and hunky juniors and seniors. If the event was a school year, it was the shortest, but sizzling. 

The “university” students went beyond the traditional uniform as most were shirtless and in skimpy shorts and jeans. Armed with good looks and to-die-for bodies, they were every lady’s object of desire. The academic year began when host and Bachelor U dean Menchu Antigua welcomed all the women and those women “at heart” to the 2013 Cosmo Bachelor Bash.  

The bash gave women ideas of what mold of men could steal their hearts in segments. The Calvin Klein portion was a tribute to the mysterious, handsome guys in glasses. It was like the Revenge of the Nerds, as the host put it. They didn’t need to bare some skin to get onlookers’ attention. The Antonov guys were their opposite as they flaunted their brawns. This was also the same with the health buff Century Tuna hunks and physically-fit Kojie San men. The Guess boys, however, did not lag behind in showing their masculinity.

Although not part of the list, Markki Stroem, Albie Casiño, Alex Castro, Jon Hall, Aaron Villaflor, Rodjun Cruz, Pancho Magno and Carlo Romero paid a surprise school visit as what one could call them as “cross enrollees.” And the crowd welcomed them with fascination. In fact, ladies beside me were rooting for Rodjun and enjoying the catwalk performance of Aaron Villaflor, who was channeling his teleserye character. Keeping the mercury rise was the presence of Brazilian-Japanese Hideo Muraoka and Daniel Matsunaga, and TV5’s Vin Abrenica.

Also gracing the affair were Victor Basa, Brent Javier, David and Anthony Semerald, Luke Jickain and Jay R. They were all Cosmo Bachelor graduates.

But the most anticipated part of the night was the revelation of the “Daring Dean’s Listers.” Coming up on stage first was Aljur, the class performer. Next was Sam Adjani as the Physical Education teacher. Vince Ferraren was dubbed the Most Valuable Player. Rayver Cruz played the school dancer. Sam Concepcion was the Campus Heartthrob. The corps commander title went to Matteo Guidicelli. JC de Vera was the frat president. Dennis and Tom showed the spicy and sweet sides of men by playing the Rebel Rockstar and Pretty Boy, respectively. The two hunks proved that the special affinity between their characters Eric and Vincent is just for the small screen. Completing the list was Alden Richards who worked the crowd well with his innocent charm and oozing sexiness.

At the end, the Top Cosmo Bachelor Men were not conferred with any degrees or did not receive any Latin  honors, but they had the admiration and adulation of many.
