MANILA, Philippines - This month, get ready for another musical extravaganza as violinist Lindsey Stirling is set to perform on Aug. 17 at 7 p.m. and on Aug, 18, 6 p.m. at the Ayala Malls.
Lindsey is a classically-trained violinist from Gilbert, Arizona who is known for her beautifully-choreographed performances. Lindsey started making a name on YouTube where she performed original compositions and cover songs from video game soundtracks. Her unique musical genre paired with her impressive dance moves instantly captured a good number of fans who were enthralled with her performance. But the 26-year-old artist gained her popularity as she joined the fourth season of America’s Got Talent, where she became a quarter-finalist. The same competition gave her the title as the hip-hop violinist.
Being voted off in America’s Got Talent didn’t stop Lindsey to pursue her love for music. In fact, this gave her an inspiration to start composing. As a motivational speaker in her spare time, Lindsey muses, “The same reasons I was told I wouldn’t succeed are the reasons people travel hundreds of miles to see me now (laughs). Because it’s different. Because it’s something you haven’t seen before.â€
Just months ago, Lindsey was signed to Lady Gaga’s management company Atom Factory.
Lindsey’s self-titled debut album features 12 original tracks including viral smashes Crystallize, Shadows and Electric Daisy Violin. With her fan base now spreading across Europe, America, Russia and Asia, Lindsey’s debut album has sold 150,000 copies in the US without the backing of a major label, and has gone gold in Germany (over 100,000 sold) and Switzerland. Lindsey’s debut album will be available in CDs under MCA Music (Universal Music Philippines) starting tomorrow, Aug. 12 at Astroplus, Fully Booked and Odyssey Music & Video.
