MANILA, Philippines - If TV host and commentator Anthony Taberna were to interview Chito Miranda regarding his leaked “private video†with girlfriend Neri Naig, he only has one thing to ask.
“Bakit? Bakit mo ginawa yun?†he told members of the entertainment media on Tuesday, August 7
Anthony further quipped, “Bakit ka nagrecord e recording artist ka na?â€
The Kapamilya broadcaster said he’d want to feature the issue on his show. But Anthony wouldn’t want to focus on Chito and Neri. Rather, he’d want to find out if the recent controversy surrounding Chito and Neri would prompt the government to be more vigilant against cyber criminals.

“Pwede bang pagbutihan ng gobyerno yung paghahanap dito sa mga cyber criminals na ito?†he said.
Flexible
The topic of Chito was brought up when Anthony spoke to the press to promote his late afternoon news magazine program “Tapatan ni Tunying.†Here, Anthony interviews personalities from all spectrums of society, from politics to showbiz.
So far, he has featured beauty queen Ma. Venus Raj and celebrity mothers Karla Estrada and Eva Cariño.
Isn’t Anthony afraid he’ll lose his credibility as a hard-hitting commentator by interviewing entertainment personalities?
He said ‘Tapatan ni Tunying†is just an expanded version of his other shows on TV and radio.
“Ito, natalisod lang natin yung mga artista dahil may pakialam din naman tayo sa buhay ng mga artista. Pero this goes beyond them, e,†Anthony said.
He added: “Palagay ko, ang lalong mae-emphasize dito is, Tunying pala is flexible, na kahit kanino mo itapat, pwede pala.â€
In the coming weeks, he’ll show just how flexible he is as a host of the news magazine program. For an episode, he features the country’s young, “bagito†senators. In another, Anthony interviews Mexican singer and famed “Marimar†actress Thalia.
“Ayun, gustong-gusto niya ako,†he joked when asked what he could share from the Thalia interview.
Dream interviews
But Anthony’s dream interviews are still with politicians: President Benigno Aquino III and former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
What will he discuss with Aquino? “Ang pinakaimportante sa akin, gusto ko nang mag-asawa si PNoy. Yung asawa, nagbibigay ng stability 'yan e,†Anthony said.

He further explained, “Katulad ko, may asawa ko. Ang pagtingin ko sa isang bagay, ganito lang. Yun pala, pag tinanong ko sa asawa ko, mag-iiba. May magagaling na asawa, nagku-complement. Palagay ko makakatulong kay PNoy na may asawa siya para makinabang ang bayan sa kanya.â€
As for Arroyo, Anthony only has one question. “Masakit ba ang leeg mo?†he quipped.
