Fall Out Boy set for Big Dome

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines -  Local music fans will get a unique chance to listen live to the new sounds of Fall Out Boy (photo) when the rock band performs during its highly-anticipated concert on tomorrow, Aug. 8, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City.

Billed as Fall Out Boy Save Rock And Roll Manila, the joint offering from MMI  and Ovation Productions is part of the American  band’s ongoing world tour in support of the Save Rock and Roll album.

The group returns to the local concert scene four years after its last performance on Feb. 13, 2009,  also at the Big Dome, as part of its Folie a Deux world tour.  It rocked Manila for the first time during its two-night sold-out concert on Sept. 21 and 22, 2007 at the same venue.

Fall Out Boy’s line-up is composed of vocalist/rhythm guitarist Patrick Stump, bassist Pete Wentz, lead guitarist Joe Trohman and drummer Andy Hurley who originally played in local underground punk bands in the Chicago area before they got together in 2001 to form the  group that eventually became the biggest band in emo-pop in the world.

(Fall Out Boy: Save Rock And Roll Tour is presented by MMI and Ovation Productions in association with 2nd Avenue, Diva Universal, Jack TV, EDSA Shangri-La Manila and Gerry’s Grill. It is also supported by Manila Bulletin, The Philippine STAR, BusinessWorld, Inquirer.net, Monster Radio RX 93.1, 97.9 Love Radio, Mellow 94.7, MYX, OptimaSignsolutions and ABS-CBN.  Tickets are priced at P4,755, P4,225, P3,700, P2,115  and P845.
