Top, Jinky reunited in show
MANILA, Philippines - Top Suzara and Jinky Vidal (photo), the lead vocalists that made the band Freestyle a byword in Philippine pop music, are singing together again in the concert Top & Jinky Reunited.
Presented by Viva Concerts, a division of Viva Live, the show will be held at the Music Museum in Greenhills on Aug. 30.
Top and Jinky were discovered by Viva Records as members of Freestyle in Davao two decades ago. Top was the keyboardist and songwriter while Jinky was the vocalist. The young pop band soon became the toast of Manila with hits like Before I Let You Go, So Slow, Bakit Ngayon Ka Lang and others.
Unfortunately, a falling out within the group separated Top and Jinky and both pursued solo careers for several years. The show is the first time that they are performing together again. They are also recording an album that will bring back the unique sound of their combined voices.
