The ‘Battles’ begin in The Voice Ph

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The artists’ voices have been heard. The coaches’ chairs have already turned.

Tonight, a more intense vocal showdown will start as all 52 artists compete and level up in the much-awaited “Battles” round of the country’s top-rating and Twitter-trending singing-reality show The Voice of the Philippines.

After coaches apl.de.ap, Sarah Geronimo, Bamboo and Lea Salonga complete their teams of 13 artists each, the artists who belong to the same team must then face off in the Battle stage for the next round of eliminations.

The coaches will determine the “pairings” or the pairs of artists who will compete in the Battles. The coaches will also pick the songs a “pairing” must sing together to determine who will stay and who will go. At the end of the match-up, the coach must pick which artist will be sent home, and which artist will move on to the Live Shows.

Since the teams have 13 artists each, one “pairing” per team will be composed of three artists who will surely heat up the vocal battle even more.

Who will be paired up with whom? Whose dream will continue and whose dream will soon end?

The Voice of the Philippines airs Saturday nights at 9 and Sundays, 8:15 p.m. on ABS-CBN.
