Willie, Boots host UPAA homecoming

MANILA, Philippines - University of the Philippines alumni Willie Nepomuceno and Boots Anson-Roa (photos) will host this year’s UP General Alumni-Faculty Homecoming and Reunion on June 22, at the UP Bahay ng Alumni, Diliman, Quezon City.

Artist-impressionist and host Nepomuceno, whose repertoire of impersonations ranges from presidents to presidentiables continues to inform and entertain on radio, TV and live shows. Actress-columnist Roa is a Lifetime Achievement Award recipient from both FAMAS and Star Awards.

The homecoming also marks the UPAA Centennial celebration. With the theme Bagong Siglo, Bagong Sigla, the celebration will also see the release of the UPAA Centennial Yearbook. The event will also be highlighted by the awarding of the UPAA Lifetime Distinguished Achievement Awards, Distinguished Alumni Awards, Distinguished Service Award for an Alumnus/Alumna, Distinguished Service Awards for Alumni Chapters, Presidential Awardees, Presidential Award for Past UPAA Presidents and the UPAA Multi-Generation U.P. Alumni Family Recognition. 

Alumni from the Classes of 1953 (Diamond), 1963 (Golden), 1973 (Ruby) and 1988 (Silver) are this year’s jubilarians.

Participants get the chance to win many raffle prizes. UPAA is raffling off major prizes like four round-trip tickets to Hong Kong, three gift certificates from Boracay Garden Resort for a three-day/two-night twin-sharing stay with buffet breakfasts, and three Baguio Country Club certificates for a three-day, two-night stay for three pax.  Twelve paintings donated by acclaimed UP artists will also be up for grabs, as well as orchids and ornamental plants from UP Los Baños and gift bags.
