MANILA, Philippines - Ateneo-bred scholars have long gone on to become the pride of our Filipino nation. To this day, the Ateneo Scholarship Foundation (ASF), a non-profit, non-stock organization since 1974, continues to participate in the task of nation-building through its mission of providing for financially challenged but bright-minded students of the Ateneo de Manila University.
This year, the ASF is once again celebrating its cause by means of a special fund-raising concert dubbed, Sing Out Broadway! on June 22 at 8 p.m. and on June 23, 7 p.m. It will be held at the Henry Lee Irwin Theater, Ateneo de Manila University campus, Loyola Heights, Quezon City.
The concert will feature a group of professional Filipino performing artists who have graced both the Philippine and international theater stage namely, Carla Guevarra-Laforteza, Shiela Valderama-Martinez, Lorenz Martinez and OJ Mariano. It will also include the special participation of Jose Mari Chan and Janet Basco. Their repertoire will consist of old to new Broadway musical pieces, Disney classics, some standards and pop songs.
Proceeds from the sponsorships and sales of tickets of the concert will go to the Ateneo College Scholarship Program.
