June is Dengue Awareness Month. The episode is also in line with the “back- to-school†theme. The discussion will tap on how serious dengue can be if not properly treated and how to protect our household from dengue virus.
Just last April, the Department of Health warns the public for dengue as it already took seven lives in the first quarter of 2013 alone. A total of 2,332 cases are reported from Jan. 1 to April 13. The number is much lower than of last year but the DOH reminds the public to be vigilant and to take necessary steps to prevent the illness.
