MANILA, Philippines - Success in business cannot be achieved without hard work, but it is an empty experience without integrity. This is the philosophy held on to by Ricky Reyes.
As a college undergraduate, Ricky dreamt of attending the Realistic Institute in a building at the ilalim ng tulay of Quiapo, Manila. As his mother Amada was poor and couldn’t afford to send her eldest son to that popular vocational school, Ricky’s rags-to-riches story began at a small salon where he was employed as an errand boy.
With his rise to fame and fortune with 40 Gandang Ricky Reyes branches nationwide, he went on to establish his own school to help hairdressers and cosmetologists achieve their dreams in the beauty industry. The first Ricky Reyes Learning Institute (RRLI) branch came to being at Cubao, Quezon City. Another opened in Manila at the same building Realistic Institute occupied. Soon after, the Alabang branch was inaugurated.
