Tambayan Hits with Noel and Aiza

MANILA, Philippines - Serenading fans and music lovers with their smooth vocals and guitar skills, acoustic artists Noel Cabangon and Aiza Seguerra invite everyone on June 21 and 22, 8 p.m. at Onstage to enjoy their musical collaboration, Tambayan Hits.

“Super excited ako when I found out that I’ll do a show with the Noel Cabangon. Sobrang idol ko siya. Of course, iba ‘pag idol mo yung kasama mo sa show, mas inspiring,” shares Aiza. Noel feels the same way, “I’m very excited. Noong alam ko na na matutuloy lalo akong na-excite.”

For the Tambayan Sessions, fans of the two acoustic favorites can expect to witness the harmonious fusion of Aiza and Noel’s songs as well as some well-thought of songs. “We’ll give the songs a different sound, which was specially arranged just for the show,” says Aiza. She adds, “Unlike other shows wherein naka-kahon na yung mga tugtugin namin. Set ko, then set ni Noel, itong Tambayan Hits concert, may concept. Each song that we’ll be performing will have a new sound, treatment, rendition, at yung iba ngayon lang namin gagawin on stage.”

Noel shares, “When we sat down and discussed the concept with the musical director, Mike Villegas and the producer, it was made clear to us that this has to be a different collaboration from what we have done before. In the concert, we’ll practically be on stage the whole time. It’s not your usual back-to-back wherein you do your set and I’ll do mine. This kind of set program defeats the purpose of a collaboration so we are going to sing together and back up each other with vocals and instruments. Jamming talaga! Parang sa tamabayan sa kanto pag nag-iinuman. Pero yung kantahan lang ito ha, walang inuman.”

Speaking of their musical director, the two are excited to be working with Mike Villegas as Aiza claims that he plays a vital role to the whole show. “Mike will envision the different sound for the show, which will fit my style as well as Noel’s. Mike and the ‘pogi boys,’ with Ria Villena-Osorio will definitely surprise us with their areglos and sound.” Noel adds, “Mike will bring out the best in us musically. Aiza and I have already done some live collaborations before, she was a guest in my recent concert, Tuloy ang Byahe in PETA and we did very well. There’s a spontaneity when we performed. Malakas ang connection.”

“It’s going to be a fun, fun night. Masarap ang tugtugan mula sa akin at kay Noel, at syempre musical direction ni Mike Villegas, kaya panalo ‘to!” Aiza enthuses.

Sharing the same sentiment, Noel and Aiza both see the musical collaboration as something that their fans will enjoy, given that they are passionate about music.
