BORACAY, AKLAN, Philippines — Kapuso stars treated foreign and local visitors to a meaningful weekend at one of the country’s favorite summer destinations. Dubbed Kapuso Weekend in Bo- racay, the three-day event brimmed with stars and activities that provided fun and entertainment.
On the first day, May 24, was the ceremonial kick-off of the Kapuso Weekend, with stars showing their competitive side in various games on the beach. The stars were divided into two teams, the White Beach and the Puka Beach. Making up the White Beach team were Mikael Daez, Mike Tan, LJ Reyes, Ka- trina Halili, Isabelle Daza, Steven Silva, Rochelle Pangilinan, Kris Lawrence, Pancho Magno, Arthur Solinap and John Feir.
Puka Beach team, meanwhile, was composed of Aljur Abenica, Mark Herras, Kris Bernal, Sam Pinto, Max Collins, Andrea Torres, Bianca King, Carl Guevarra, JC Tiuseco and Jay-R.
Event hosts were GMA Regional TV’s Anna Maris Igpit, DJ
Rico Robles and Gabby Eigenmann, who delivered funny commentary during the games.
Capping the night was the Ka- puso Jammin’ with performances from Gabby, Katrina and Aljur. The ladies in the audience broke out in screams when Christian went up the stage, singing You and I’ve Got a Feeling. On the second day, May 25, the Kapuso Games on the Beach continued, followed by the Kapuso Night, which featured Mark and Rochelle in a dance showdown. Sam, Kris and Jay-R also took the stage for sizzling song-and- dance numbers.
Wrapping up the celebration on May 26 was the Kapuso sa Kalikasan, a beach clean-up project of GMA Network in partner- ship with the Boracay Foundation, Pearl of the Pacific, the Municipality of Malay and other local organizations and establishments. During the coastal clean-up activity, Aljur, Mark, Steven, Mike and Katrina helped in pick- ing up trash and collecting garbage side by side with the locals along the shoreline of Boracay. And in its effort to help save the environment, the GMA Network donated artificial coral reefs to the Boracay Foundation.
