MANILA, Philippines - In cooperation with the Viva Entertainment Group, and further to its active campaign to reach out to as many stakeholders in the film and television industries, the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) recently visited one of the country’s leading entertainment and production companies, VIVA Communications, Inc. (VCI).
Together with some members of the MTRCB, chairman Eugenio “Toto†Villareal (photo) led the visit, carrying the Agency’s battle cry: Matalinong Panonood Para sa Pamilya ni Juan and Juana, a campaign to empower the Filipino audience, particularly the family and the young, in understanding and applying the MTRCB ratings system and related laws, rules and regulations.
June Torrejon-Rufino, SVP of VCI, introduced VIVA Entertainment’s divisions. This was followed by a forum, where chairman Villareal explained the MTRCB’s promotion of “best practices†to be developed by film and television outfits to ensure audience-sensitivity. The MTRCB also shared its continuing drive to reach the grassroots of society, including those who avail of “mobile entertainment†in buses and ferries.
In the same occasion, the MTRCB commended VIVA’s Marketing and Films Division, for introducing a template for the processing of urgent film reviews. “Sinundan ng ibang kumpanya ang ginawa ng VIVA,†Villareal said.
MTRCB ended the forum by expressing a strong determination to contribute to the progress of the film industry, a vital component of which is enriching its relationship with VIVA.
