Candice or Kree? Results are in as 'Idol' crowns winner

Dexter Rodrigo Matilla - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - In a season that saw dwindling ratings, and what is expected to be long-time judge Randy Jackson's final one, the all-female finale has yielded the first female winner since Jordin Sparks did it in 2007.

And her name is Candice Glover.

The 23-year-old took the title home after two unsuccessful attempts, edging out friend and aspiring country star, Texas' Kree Harrison at the Nokia Theater in L.A.

"I can't even... Oh my God... Three years," was all Glover could say as soon as the confetti began to drop.

Host Ryan Seacrest then helped her out by saying, "Persistence, determination, and a lot of talent. You Deserve it congratulations."

Glover then sang her new single, "I Am Beautiful" to close the show.
