Daily Express 41st reunion

MANILA, Philippines - Former employees of the Philippines Daily Express, which existed from 1972 to 1987, will celebrate the paper’s 41st  anniversary with a  bingo social and merienda to be held at Annabel’s, Quezon City.

Registration for the June 1 event will start at 3 p.m.

Officers and committee chairmen, who got together to organize the Daily Express Family, Inc. (DEFI) are Neal  Cruz, Inquirer columnist, chairman; Mary Jane Ortega, former San Fernando, La Union mayor, president; Alice  Reyes, former NPC VP and Aliw Awards Foundation founder, VP; Louella Guevarra, secretary; Carolyn Zaragoza, treasurer; Osmund  Orlanes, internal auditor; Napoleon Baga, external auditor; Marlyn Pantoja, information officer; Enrique Ventura, assistant information officer; Victor Endriga, ways and means chairman; Juan Antonio Perez III, health and welfare chairman; and Antonio Villano, legal consultant.

Adviser of  the group is Enrique Romualdez, Malaya editor-in-chief.

Among the DE Alumni still active in media are Ricky Lo, Millet Martinez-Mananquil, Ching Alano, Vic Agustin and Rosalinda Orosa of The Philippine STAR; Jun Engracia and Recah Trinidad of Inquirer; Evelyn Diao; Jess Antiporda; Joy de los Reyes; Mitos Garcia; Willie Capulong; Nonie Pelayo; Radito Torres and Rose de la Cruz.
