Manila mayoralty race in Balwarte finale

The show closes with its final episode the day before elections with 2013 Golden Dove Awards’ Best TV Newscaster Cheryl Cosim taking viewers through the political tug-of-war in the country’s capital city.

The race for Manila mayor is one of the country’s most watched contests in this year’s elections. Seeking a third term, incumbent mayor Alfredo Lim is running against former President Joseph Estrada, who himself served as mayor of San Juan. The former political allies have since become bitter rivals, with their relationship unraveling in the media.
