MANILA, Philippines - Putting a capstone to its 25th anniversary this year, Punongbayan & Araullo (P&A), one of the country’s most prestigious auditing firms, will contribute its expertise to the national electoral exercise on May 13.
A major TV network that will be broadcasting the senatorial election results has engaged the services of P&A is Juancho Robles (photo), the firm’s head of advisory services. Robles was handpicked because he has the credentials for the job: He is a certified fraud examiner and a certified information system auditor. He also reviewed and tested the computerized vote tallying system during the last presidential election. Robles will supervise and monitor the P&A team throughout the validation and auditing procedures. P&A will also do selective black-box testing and assist in recomputing and tabulating the initial batches of election return data.
Robles is a De La Salle accounting graduate, with a Masters in Management from the Asian Institute of Management. He has recently been accepted into the Harvard Business School’s Owner President Management (OPM) program.
