Kapuso artists big winners at 61st FAMAS

MANILA, Philippines - Several Kapuso artists brought pride and honor to GMA network after being proclaimed as big winners in this year’s 61st Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS) Awards held last Sunday, April 21, at the AFP Theater.

Veteran TV host and star builder German “Kuya Germs” Moreno received the Special Recognition Award for his 50th year in Philippine Cinema. 

Seasoned actress Jaclyn Jose received the Best Supporting Actress Award for her performance in the 2012 romance-drama film, A Secret Affair. Jaclyn is part of the primetime series Mundo Mo’y Akin.

GMA Artist Center’s Joyce Ching and Ruru Madrid, who are Party Pilipinas regulars, both received the German Moreno Youth Achievement Award.

One of Startalk’s reputable hosts Butch Francisco was one of the night’s biggest winners after he received the Dr. Jose Perez Memorial Award.
