Lou Bonnevie performs in Earthday Jam ’13

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Lou Bonnevie was recently awarded the country’s clean air champion. The citation came from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) and Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) in recognition of her environmental advocacy and as an ambassadress of the cause. In lieu of this, she released a music video titled Halina, Sama Sama Tayo produced by the Environmental Management Bureau of DENR to push the campaign on clean air. It is now on rotation on several music channels and can be seen on YouTube.

This is Lou’s second award in her tireless efforts and passion to the environment. In 2007, she was granted the Father Neri Satur Environmental Heroism Award as an eco-artist whose composition and production have reached out to the youth through the annual Earthday Jam.

Earthday Jam, her baby project, is now on its 13th year. It continues to be the biggest music tribute to Mother Earth commemorating the worldwide Earthday celebration. This year, it will be held on April 19 at the 9th Ave. cor 34th St. of Bonifacio Global City in Taguig (beside Mercato Night Market which will be open at 6 p.m. to give way to the earthjammers).

Lou will be performing along 20 other top Filipino bands and artists in a five- to six-hour music marathon. The event is open to the public.
