Resorts World Manila to hold major Mandapop concert with Sue Rey and Power Station

MANILA, Philippines - Taiwan’s best Hokkien singer Sue Rey, together with pop-rock duo Yu Chu Hsin and Yen Chih Lin of Power Station, invades the majestic stage of the award-winning Newport Performing Arts Theater in Resorts World Manila on April 13, 8 p.m. for a one-night-only concert.

Taipei-born Sue Rey is known for her unique and distinctive voice evident in her hit singles The Same Moonlight, and Follow your Feelings. Starting a career in music since 1968 singing English songs in hotels around Hong Kong and Taiwan, Sue Rey catapulted into the mainstream with her Untold original soundtrack project in 1983. Since then, Sue Rey has been a pop sensation in Southeast Asia, and has also performed and made a name for herself in Europe and the US.

Power Station, on the other hand, is famous for its infectious and fast-paced rock ballads, and electrifying rock anthems. Its image resembling the glam rock and heavy metal icons of western music, Power Station has been touted as the greatest rock band of the Mandapop scene. The powerhouse duo of Yu Chu Hsin and Yen Chih Lin shot to fame 16 years ago and has since released 11 albums with numerous hits such as local favorite theme song from MediaCorp drama Chu Lu (Stepping Out) to Zhong Xiao Dong Lu Zou Jiu Bian, Na Jiu Zhe Yang Ba, Wai Tao (Jacket), Cai Hong (Rainbow), Chong Dong (Impulsive).
