Manggahan Festival 2013 at Guimaras
MANILA, Philippines - The sweetest, tastiest mango is from the province of Guimaras. Mango is a favorite fruit and important food source. Mango lovers prefer the Guimaras mango because it tastes better than the rest.
Guimaras will hold the Manggahan Festival 2013 to boost the mango industry which is a major crop and source of income among the people of the province. The Guimaras mango puts the province on top of the world.
The first event dubbed Manggahan sa Robinsons is a six-day agri trade fair to be held at the Robinsons Place Fountain Area. The trade fair is from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Other activities are: today at 4 p.m., opening and launching of the Guimaras tourism circuits; April 9, Elimination Disco Derby at 1:30 p.m.; April 10, display and presentation of GIS Map, 4 p.m.; April 11, Cooking Demo of Mango-based Recipes, 2 p.m.; and Mean Eat to Win Eat Mango Eating Contest, 4 p.m.; April 12, Mutya Sang Guimaras Fashion Show, 5 p.m.; April 13, Mean Eat to Win Eat Mango Eating Contest, 4 p.m.
To kick off the eight-day event Manggahan sa Guimaras are the second Mango Man Triathlon and third Manggahan Fun Run to be held at the Ramen Beach and Capitol Grounds at 6 a.m. The ABS-CBN Kapamilya Karavan 2013 will be held at the Museo de Guimaras Area at 3 p.m. while The Talentado Ka Nueva Valencia sa Manggahan is at 7 p.m.
April 15 marks the start of the seven-day Mango Eat All You Can to be held at the Capitol Grounds at 11 a.m.
Other activities are opening salvo and street dancing competition and opening of agri trade fair and food festival; provincial dog wellness center; fiesta forum; disco derby 2013; job fair; Mutya Sang Guimaras; PWD cultural presentation; Magnolia cooking demo; Second Manggahan Culinary Arts & Skills Competition; BMEG livelihood caravan; first Manggahan National Darts Tournament; Petron car show; Mr. Guimaras 2013; tribes competition; fireworks competition; and live band concert.
