Hip-hop at its finest
MANILA, Philippines - Experience hip-hop at its finest in Araneta Dreams, a one-day hip-hop event on April 9 at the 16,000-seat Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The ambitious event, the first hip-hop event in Philippine history to be held at The Big Dome, is the brainchild of Mike Swift, founder of Konektado World, Inc., Slykane and Mista Blaze with ideas from J-hon.
“This is my dream, your dream and our dream, To The Billboard goes to Smart Araneta,†says Swift, the first Filipino in the USA to own a record label.
Araneta Dreams features the winner-take-all Sunugan Battle Royale competition and Game of Skate championship with P300,000 and P60,000 grand prizes respectively. Highlights include the rap battle matches top-billed by Filipino rappers Loonie and Batas who will battle it out against Dizaster and Swave Sevah of the USA. American battle rapper, Dizaster, is one of the best in the world, who has joined rap battle leagues including Canada’s King of the Dot, US’ Got Beef? and Grind Time Now, and UK’s Don’t Flop.
“This will be the battle that I'll prepare for the most. I've been preparing for this battle my whole life so this means everything to me,†says Filipino rap battle star Loonie.
Other rap battlers are Protege, Dello, Smugglaz, Apekz, J Skeelz, Zaito, Juan Tamad, Righteous One, Slimer, Lil Ron, Lil John, Iceberg, and twelve others.
Former actress and now Tacloban City Councilor Kring-Kring Gonzales is a special guest in this event. Special performers include Gloc 9, Abra, Loonie, Ron Henley, Blaze n Kane, Jonan Aguilar with Anak, LDP, Mike Swift, J-Hon, Greyhoundz, Q-York, Pow Chavez, Quest, BNK, Urban Flow, Mike Kosa, Ka Freddie Aguilar with the Watawat Band, and many more.
Tickets are available at all TicketNet outlets nationwide at P500, P850, P1,250, P1,600 and P2,000.
