End of the world in Coming Soon

MANILA, Philippines - A unique tale of friendship is at the heart of Fearless Production and Brown Sugar Entertainment’s initial film venture, Coming Soon.

The movie, set for an April 17 release in theaters, talks about the strong bond among six friends and their struggle to achieve their dreams as the end of the world draws near.

One of the producers, Neil Arce, said they opted to call the project Coming Soon because the six main characters in the film share the belief that the world is indeed about to end.

“’Yun ’yung reason kung bakit ginawa nila ’yung ginagawa nila. How will they survive if the world ends? Kung kailangan nilang gawin ang dapat nilang gawin? Or kung hindi totoo ang end of the world,” Neil shares.

Working on the movie proved both tedious and rewarding for Neil as a producer.

Based on the trailer, Coming Soon is a potential crowd drawer. It offers a new brand of comedy from the cast — Boy2 Quizon, Andi Eigenmann, Glaiza de Castro, Dominic Rocco, Carla Humphries and Cholo Barretto.

Director Martin Aviles made sure each character had his/her own shining moment.

Monica (Andi) is a socialite’s rebellious daughter. Boy2 is Sikyu, the leader of the group which has no goal in life.

Dominic is the hopeless romantic computer geek Darwin, while Glaiza is Sab, a girl who’s serious with life and is overly organized.

Cholo is Nacho, a good friend to everyone who goes for the supernatural and Carla is Dana, a starlet whose objective is to earn recognition at all cost.

Coming Soon seeks to answer the following questions: Despite differences in character, how are the friends able to bond as a group? Is the forthcoming end of the world a reason for them to grow apart as friends?
