MANILA, Philippines - Imagine if the whole world will be submerged under water with sea levels rising to over 70 meters, just like how sea levels went to an estimate of 70 meters after the Ice Age. A great flood like this is expected if current C02 emissions continue. Based on history, a great deluge happened before due to global warming and sea levels rose 70 meters higher than that of today and sinking the low-lying areas of the world.
Computer-generated imagery is used to show the effects if such great flood will happen. Science will prove why this is inevitable on the forthcoming years.
The film shows step-by-step what could happen as sea levels rise from one to 70 meters. It reveals the disasters waiting to strike and their impact on the society.
Experts and politicians also share on what they plan to do to stop the current rise of CO2 emissions and explore extreme engineering to buy us time. The message of Earth Under Water is simple and severe, showing all the details of Earth’s apocalyptic future waiting to happen.
Earth Under Water is based on the forthcoming book of astro-biologist and palaeontologist Peter Ward who’s currently the professor of Biology and Earth and Space Sciences at the University of Washington and chief scientific advisor for the film.
