Joey in Casino Filipino nationwide concert tour

MANILA, Philippines - Joey Albert, whose classic love songs like Tell Me, Million Miles Away, Iisa Pa Lamang and I Remember the Boy, takes Casino Filipino guests down memory lane as she goes on a nationwide concert tour at various Casino Filipino venues this month.

“I will be singing all my hit songs, plus classic ’70s songs and movie themes. I’m presenting a new concept which I call a cine-concert. It’s actually a track show. Imagine watching a movie with me singing the soundtracks live. That’s the concert in a nutshell,” said Albert when asked what is in store for the audience during her concert tour.

According to Albert, she was one of the mainstay performers at Casino Filipino before she moved to Canada in the ’90s. “It will be an honor to join the impressive roster of performers at the Casino Filipino. Their shows become a venue for worthy Filipino performances. I applaud PAGCOR for their strong advocacy for our Filipino artists,” she cited.

Albert, whose unique singing voice never lost its appeal despite her battle with cancer, keeps coming back to offer great shows not only in the Philippines but also in the US and Asian countries like Hong Kong and Malaysia.

PAGCOR AVP for Entertainment Bong Quintana said great shows have already been set at different Casino Filipino venues for the month of March as a way of welcoming the fun and festive summer season. “Aside from the celebrity performances at various Casino Filipino branches which we slated, we are also excited on the homecoming concert of Joey Albert. She is set to perform this March in 11 Casino Filipino branches,” Bong said.

Albert will be joined by P5 talent Hadasa Camporaso during the concert tour. “It’s my first time to work with Joey Albert and I really look forward to front act for her. Importante po sa akin itong pagkakataong ito kasi not all artists are given the chance to work with some of the greatest music icons in the industry. Knowing  Joey Albert as a remarkable artist, alam ko po na marami akong matututunan sa kanya na magagamit ko sa pagkanta ko at career ko as a PAGCOR artist. It will be a big privilege for me to be part of her tour.” Hadasa said.

Steve Fernandez, another P5 member who will also do the front act in some venues said, “regular rehearsals will definitely be part of my routine prior to our concert tour in March. I will do my best every time I perform for the audience. This is another big break for me all so I will surely work hard to open the show for Joey,” he said.

Joey’s national concert tour with the P5 members kicked off at the Casino Filipino Bacolod yesterday. It will be followed by a series of performances today, March 2 at the Casino Filipino Cebu; March 3, Casino Filipino Davao; March 4, Amigo Terrace in Iloilo; March 8, the Casino Filipino Hyatt; March 9, Casino Filipino Heritage; March 13 at Airport Casino Filipino; March 14, Casino Filipino Angeles; March 15, Casino Filipino Olongapo; March 16, Casino Filipino Tagaytay; and March 20, Casino Filipino Pavilion.
