Tomasino stages ‘Dos Por Dos’

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Teatro Tomasino closes its 35th season with the staging of Dos Por Dos — a twin bill production directed by one of its honorary members, ABS-CBN director Erick Salud. Dos Por Dos features two Palanca winners: Joe Cool Aplikante by Joshua Lim So and Our Lady Of Arlegui by Chris Martinez. Student members Eudes Anthony Garcia and Izhar Alindada are Salud’s assistant directors.

Dos Por Dos will be staged at UST’s Albertus Magnus auditorium until Mar. 1 with performances at 10 a.m., 1 p.m., 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Dos Por Dos aims to critique the current working environment in the Philippines and how religion plays a role in one’s workplace.

Teatro Tomasino is the University-wide theater guild of UST and John Lapus is the guild’s professional adviser.

“Teatro Tomasino was established on Sept. 17, 1977. Teatro continues to provide Thomasians with an avenue to cultivate excellence in the field of theater and the performing arts. At 35, the guild prides itself with a legacy of producing notable plays as well as distinguished alumni who have become well-known in their respective fields,” says John who is currently starring on ABS-CBN’s Kahit Konting Pagtingin with Angeline Quinto, Sam Milby and Paulo Avelino. John is also one of the resident judges of TV5’s Talentadong Pinoy Worldwide.
