Julie Anne debut album goes double platinum

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Fans can’t get enough of Julie Anne San Jose (photo) as her self-titled debut album reached double platinum status after its release.

GMA Records handed out its first-ever double platinum record award to Julie Anne last Sunday in Party Pilipinas.

Julie Anne marks another successful moment in her career as her 11-song collection hits outstanding sales, having exceeded over 30,000 units sold in both physical (CDs) and digital sales.

Julie Anne San Jose, which was released through iTunes last year, immediately landed on iTunes Philippines’ Most Downloaded Album. It also entered the Top Albums in iTunes Taiwan, Macau, Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand and Malaysia and was among the Top 10 albums in iTunes worldwide.

Julie Anne has proven her place in the pop music industry for being the first-ever recipient of the Philippine Association of the Record Industry’s (PARI) Platinum Digital Single Award for the outstanding digital sales performance of her carrier single I’ll Be There with over 245,000 downloads.

Her latest single, a pop-rock Tagalog song, titled Bakit Ngayon, is composed by Persephone band vocalist Barabara Jeanne Ponciano. The song is the theme song of Koreanovela, The Greatest Love, which is now airing on GMA.

With the good sales performance of her album, a triple platinum record may not be far behind. Julie Anne San Jose is available on CDs at your favorite music outlets nationwide or download it on iTunes by logging on to http://itunes.apple.com/ph/album/julie-anne-san-jose/id548177622?ls=1.
