When Kiray goes ‘bad’

MANILA, Philippines - She lands roles in heavy drama, romance and comedy but according to Kiray Celis (photo), her most unforgettable portrayals are as a kontrabida.

“My first kontrabida role was in Mara Clara. I found it really challenging to be a maldita and I wasn’t sure at first if I was doing or saying the right things. But when I found out that a lot of viewers were starting to hate the character I was portraying, I felt comfortable with my acting,” she said.

If given a chance, she said she wants to get other villain roles. “It’s thrilling to be the one causing trouble,” she added. However, she clarified that comedy will always be a part of her because she loves making people happy just like what her character does in Luv U. 

Today on ABS-CBN’s Luv U, Whitney’s (Kiray) classmates will pull a prank on her by uploading a funny video of her on YouTube. Things will have a turnaround when a talent agency sees it and takes interest on signing her up for modeling.
