MANILA, Philippines – While religious devotees of the Black Nazarene flock Quiapo today, fans of pop star Justin Bieber have displayed a different kind of devotion by cutting themselves.
The campaign came to be after a post on prank site 4Chan urged “Beliebers†to submit photos cutting themselves in the hope that Bieber would stop smoking weed.
Gossip website TMZ posted grainy pictures of Bieber in a Newport Beach hotel room party with blunt in hand.
Even fellow celebrity Miley Cyrus joined the call to put a stop to what could only be described as extreme fanaticism:
Some photos are too inappropriate to post but there are others who had a different take on the subject such as the two tweets below:
But then it raises the question on just how far teenagers would go for their “idols†and how Twitter was not able to prevent it from propagating.
Bieber has not given a statement on the issue as of the moment.
