MANILA, Philippines - Remy Martin recently held the much-awaited Centaur Dance Showdown finals at The Main Club of Seventh High to an SRO crowd of dance enthusiasts. Staged for the first time in the Philippines, the dance competition had an initial entry of 23 of the country’s finest dance crews which were whittled down to 10 finalists during a tough elimination round. The moment of truth came as the country’s finest battled for supremacy to officially represent the country in the Singapore finals on Jan. 13, 2013 where they will be vying for the top prize of $10,000.
Champion Dance Crew KrumPinoy was awarded a trophy and P100,000. First runner-up Exquizyth was awarded a plaque and P50,000 cash. The second runner-up Urban Myx received a plaque and P30,000.
The panel of judges was composed of Leal Marie Diaz of the Philippine All Stars; Bong Tan of Manoeuvres; KenJhons (Philippine All Stars); Karen Ang, marketing director for Southeast Asia and Middle East; and Joey Pineda, Philippine commercial manager of Remy Cointreau International. Carla Dunareanu and KC Montero hosted the event.
Also present in the event were Future Trade International Executives Yogi Ringler, chief marketing officer; Noel Sebastian, managing director; Boy Tabelon, director of sales with guest of honor Evan Seah, business development director, Remy Cointreau International who especially flew-in from Singapore to attend the competition. Also seen cheering-on the dance crew performances were guest celebrities Chuckie and Aileen Dreyfus, Steph Henares and Gino dela Peña.
The Centaur Dance Showdown was presented by Seventh High, Gold’s Gym, All Stars, All Stars Dance School, Chalk, Garage, Manila Bulletin, JackTV, MYX, Yahoo Philippines and Dance Manila Online.
