MANILA, Philippines - ABS-CBN won four of this year’s 12 Migration Advocacy and Media Awards (MAM), the Philippine Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) announced recently.
ABS-CBN Corp. bagged the Best TV Show Award (Episodic) for Krusada: Lipad ng Pangarap, hosted by Henry Omaga-Diaz; ABS-CBN Global won Best Film for A Mother’s Story; Best Documentary for Balitang America’s TnT; and Best Advertisement for Bida Ang Pasko On Duty.
The panel of judges for the MAM Awards is headed by CFO with members from the different migration and media institutions, which include Philippine Migrants Rights Watch, Movie and Television Review and Classification Board, National Commission for Culture and the Arts, Presidential Communications Operations Office, National Press Club of the Philippines, International Association of Business Communicators, UP College of Mass Communication and Blas Ople Center.
Conceived in 2011 by the Inter-Agency Committee (IAC) for the Celebration of the Month of Overseas Filipinos and International Migrants Day in the Philippines chaired by the Philippine Migrants Rights Watch (PMRW) and co-chaired by the CFO, MAM Awards aim to recognize the significant role of the media in the promotion and advocacy of migration and development.
