Flames: Rich in values & lessons

MANILA, Philippines - Flames of Love, which marks the return of family drama on big screen, opens Dec. 12 in theaters nationwide. Rich in moral values and lessons, Flames of Love is meant for the whole family, teenagers and adult alike, men and women, career ladies and yuppies.

Flames of Love gathers some of the finest actors in Philippine cinema, including drama greats Christopher de Leon, Dina Bonnevie, Lani Mercado, Ricky Davao, Jaclyn Jose, with Allen Dizon, Megan Young, Mavi Lozano and Valerie Concepcion.

Aside from its star values, Flames of Love has a great story written by Baby Nebrida, who co-directed the film with Gigi Alfonso, chairman of the Manunuri ng Pelikulang Pilipino and chancellor of the UP Open University. The plot revolves around four families facing challenges that moviegoers can relate to and sympathize with. Valerie, a lost girl looking for love, is the link to those families.

Flames of Love shows the sins and weaknesses of men… if only to highlight their redemption, the restoration of faith, hope, love and the value of life. The film is at once inspiring, enriching, enlightening and entertaining.

Also starring in Flames of Love are Marita Zobel, Alvin Anson, Jodi Nebrida, Ku Aquino, Rina Reyes and Fr. Peter Coching. Bea Tantoco sings the title song, composed by Carlos Magno and Chase Lumibao, with lyrics by Nebrida. Musical scorer is Diwa de Leon.

It’s been noted that family dramas come rarely on the big screen nowadays. Flames of Love hopes to set anew the trend in that genre — films enjoyed by the whole family.
