MANILA, Philippines - A new high in horror comes this month to JackTV as it premieres the second season of the Emmy and Golden Globe winner American Horror Story: Asylum. Airing Monday nights at 10, the hit drama-thriller from acclaimed TV show creator Ryan Murphy stands alone from its initial season and takes up a new setting in the form of a haunted insane asylum with numerous characters just waiting to tell their chilling tales.
Set in 1964, Briarcliff Manor is home to those who have been declared criminally insane. The church-run haven is ruled with an iron fist by Sister Jude (Jessica Lange), a nun with a troubled past and dark secret. Second in command is Sister Mary Eunice (Lily Rabe), a young nun who is highly-favored by Sister Jude due to her naïveté. Answering to Monsignor Timothy Howard (Joseph Fiennes), her superior and the object of her affections, Sister Jude runs a tight-ship and will go to extreme measures to ensure that her rule is followed.
Much to the ire of Sister Jude, the asylum has multiple doctors charged with treating the patients — from the sadistic Dr. Arthur Arden (James Cromwell) who practices cruel and secretive experiments on patients, to psychiatrist Dr. Oliver Thredson (Zachary Quinto). Conflict is sure to arise between their opposing views on how to diagnose and treat patients.
Inside Briarcliff Manor danger lurks around every corner and with no one safe inside its walls, anything could happen. American Horror Story: Asylum also stars Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters, with Frances Conroy, Chloe Sevigny, Adam Levine and Mark Consuelos as upcoming guest stars.
