VFort’s sexier music

MANILA, Philippines - After the release of VFort: The Love Band Project under Viva Records last April, nothing could ever stop Kerwin Caballero, Toff Guela and Visam Arenas, collectively known as VFort, from soaring greater heights and even pushing themselves to the utmost of their passion for music.

In a short span of time, the band’s carrier single Prinsesa, an original composition by Driven band’s frontman Jeff Cifra, has been well-received by the public and is one of the most requested songs in top radio stations. The popularity of Prinsesa, also backed by the 12-date SM tour, has helped the group burst into the public’s consciousness and given them a growing fan base. Despite being new in the music industry, VFort also pushes themselves to new heights as live performers, conquering big venues such as Waterfront Cebu City Hotel, MOA Arena and Smart Araneta Coliseum by opening shows for such international artists as Vertical Horizon, New Kids On The Block, Backstreet Boys and David Cook.

After headlining its own first major concert titled Take Off: The Rev Up Concert, VFort also proves that it is taking its music to a higher level. In the concert, VFort met the expectations of VFFs (VFort Friends, fans of the group) with an edgier approach to their music. Incorporating a Filipino flavor into the idea of hot in music, VFort performed songs from the likes of Michael Jackson, Usher, Chris Brown, Eminem, Ne-Yo and Justin Timberlake. The audience was swept by the band mates’ powerhouse numbers that have brought out the total performers in them, matching the energy that their idols have inspired them to exude. Apart from the topbilled vocally challenging songs, VFort also performed its original songs, including the second single Just Like A Pill that surprised VFFs with the premiere of its music video. Pill, a remake of Pink’s 2001 hit, did not appear as a usual cover as it takes a bold risk of incorporating ballad, choric inspiration and crossover musical elements into its overall arrangement.
