MANILA, Philippines - It’s rare for Manila’s business/showbiz set to find itself together in an event.
But when Solar Entertainment president Wilson Tieng celebrated his 60th birthday recently at the grand ballroom of Mandarin Hotel, guests from business and showbiz showed up to make Wilson’s special day even more special. They raised wine glasses to wish the birthday boy more years of good health (and wealth) and happiness.
Also around were members of Wilson’s family and associates not only from business but also from politics, media and other fields.
Besides mouth-watering items at the Continental-menu food station, the guests were regaled by non-stop singing and serenading from such friends of the celebrator as Christian Bautista, Claire dela Fuente, Faith Cuneta, Dingdong Avanzado, Arthur Manuntag and Ramon “RJ” Jacinto. The event was hosted by Jojo Alejar.
Due to insistent demand, Wilson gladly agreed to sing his favorite song, Born Free, in a duet with Arthur.
At 60, Wilson basks in the glory of his favorite lines from one a Sophia Loren movie, “There is a fountain of youth: it is your mind, your talents, the creativity you bring to your life and the lives of the people you love. When you learn to tap this source, you will have truly defeated age.”
Like Boss Vic del Rosario Jr., Wilson doesn’t look his age.
Their friends wonder: Have they found the fountain of youth?
