Moen spreads God’s message through praise songs

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Not everyone has been given the special opportunity to help spread God’s message of universal love, hope, unity and peace among millions of people of diverse religious faiths and beliefs worldwide.

With his gift of music, singer-songwriter-producer Don Moen has been privileged to make a lot of people feel and experience God’s presence in a refreshingly new and unique way: Through songs of praise and worship.

Musical concerts stand out as among the most popular family-oriented public activities through which the celebrated praise-and-worship artist has been promoting worship evangelism and transforming the lives of people in many countries across the globe.

It will be the turn of Pinoy fans to enjoy and experience listening to God’s words through the sound of contemporary Christian music when Moen comes to  Manila in November for his much-awaited 2012 tour  that will open with a major concert on Nov. 8 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City.

The concert series,  titled God Will Make A Way!  Philippine Tour 2012,  will also take Moen to  Southern Philippines for  performances at the Bohol Wisdom School Gym in Tagbilaran City on Nov. 10 and at the FSUU Gym in Butuan City on Nov. 11.

To be produced by Ovation Productions, the tour will showcase the internationally-acclaimed talent of the American singer and songwriter who has attracted millions during the past three decades for his style of praise-and-music songs that interprets closely the words of the Bible,  such as God Will Make A Way, Thank You, Lord, God Is Good All The Time and Give Thanks.

Other Christian songs that he has popularized include Lord,  I Offer My Life To You, I Want To Be Where You Are, Blessed Be The Name Of The Lord, Celebrate, Jesus, Celebrate and Great Is Thy Faithfulness.

The musical event is expected to draw another record attendance, especially from Moen’s solid base of devoted Pinoy fans of various social classes and religious beliefs that he has established during his many successful performances here in the past.

Associated with some of the best-known songs in contemporary Christian music, the talent and flair for music of the Minneapolis, Minnesota-born artist first bloomed while he was attending Oral Roberts University in Oklahoma.

After a stint as a Living Sound musician for Terry Law Ministries in the late ‘70s through early ‘80s, he joined Integrity Incorporated, authors of the Hosanna! Music praise-and-worship series, in 1984.

As worship leader, he produced a total of 11 volumes in the series, including the first album, Hosanna! Music: Give Thanks, which sold hundreds of thousands of copies and became the label’s bestseller.
