MANILA, Philippines - Since launching on GMA News TV Channel 11 last month, the back-to-back reality series Pawn Stars and Kings of Restoration have become a big hit with local audiences. Previously airing mid-afternoon, GMA News TV moves the two shows to early primetime beginning today.
Pawn Stars features a Las Vegas pawnshop run by three generations of the Harrison family — grandfather Richard, son Rick and grandson Corey. In today’s episode, Corey does what his father Rick has always warned him not to do — he buys a boat — which from past experiences, had always been a bad investment for their pawn shop.
Determined to make decisions on his own, Corey purchases a luxury boat for $16,500 without even test-driving it, aggravating his father even more. Will Corey be able to prove to his dad that he made the right move?
Kings of Restoration features Rick Dale (photo) and his crew of loose screws at Rick’s Restorations, as they take rusty, beat-up items and restore them to their original glory.
In this Sunday’s episode, Rick and his team take the challenge of restoring a refrigerator that has been sitting out in the sun behind a client’s house for several decades. The so-called Kings of Restoration will work their magic to make the 1950s refrigerator and other items look like they’ve just come out of the factory.
Dubbed in Filipino for its Philippine free TV airing, Pawn Stars and Kings of Restoration air back-to-back from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
