MANILA, Philippines - Jose “Quest” Villanueva is currently finishing his second, full-length studio album titled Life Of A Champion, a collection of 13 tracks composed by the award-winning artist whose album will be distributed locally by Universal Records.
Its carrier single, Sige Lang, was arranged by Quest in collaboration with Bo Jam of Flip Music and is being sold digitally through i-Tunes and mymusicstore.ph. Quest wrote Sige Lang with the intention of inspiring Filipinos amidst the many challenges that they encounter every day.
For the past weeks, Sige Lang has not only hit the Top 20 of Magic 89.9 but it has been climbing the charts of MYX. Its music video is directed by Nolan Bernardino and it even hit the No. 1 slot of its Top Ten Daily Countdown, Pinoy MYX Countdown, and MYX Hit Charts, which combines the top OPM and international videos of each week.
Because of word of mouth and its strong presence on MYX, Sige Lang already has over 381,000 hits on YouTube. Chot Reyes selected Sige Lang as the National Fight Song of Gilas Pilipinas Basketball Team. The basketball team will represent the country in all international basketball games.
Quest, who won Myx Best Urban Music Video for 2010, also recently signed a management contract with Manila Genesis Entertainment & Management, Inc. He was the opening act in Gary Valenciano’s concert series, On Higher Ground at the Music Museum. He opened the show with cuts from his debut album Revolution and introduced Sige Lang before a mainstream audience. Quest also wrote a brilliant introduction for Gary V which was one of the highlights of the series.
“I’m honored with the success of Sige Lang because I wrote it to inspire Filipinos,” says Quest. “The song is now reaching a lot of people. I really hope that the song will help in inspiring all of us to move forward and reach our dreams.”
Quest is also affiliated with the Shining Light Foundation which supports his many ministry outreaches and concerts.
