MANILA, Philippines - Chrisdane Andreu Galero representing SM City Sta. Mesa and Aliah Franzin “Iyah” Navarro of SM City Lipa were recently crowned as SM Little Stars 2012 during the grand finals held at the SM Mall of Asia Center Stage.
Andreu and Iyah stood out from the 21 finalists in the annual nationwide search for cute, adorable and talented kids. The judges were Viva Communications, Inc. EVP Vincent del Rosario, director Louie Ignacio and Princess Velasco.
Andreu, seven, showed his musical talent by playing the keyboard during the talent competition. A born performer, he also loves dancing and performs monologue pieces in school activities. Andreu also excels in his academics; he topped all his classes from Nursery to Grade 1 and won in a Math Quiz Bee.
Iyah, six, wowed the crowd with her Telephone song-and-dance number. It’s not surprising as she admires Sarah Geronimo. Iyah whose favorites include mathematics and biking also hopes to become a pediatrician in the future.
First runner-up was SM City Iloilo’s Kailey Rose Kemp, while SM City Rosales’ Julian Philip Gonzales and Sebastian Nicholas Ballesteros were second runner-up and third runner-up, respectively.
Over P2.5M worth of prizes were given away. Grand winners Andreu and Iyah brought home P150,000 worth of cash and shopping money, a four-year college scholarship grant from National University and a Viva Artist Management contract. Like the other top winners, they also received trips for two to Xiamen, China, gift certificates from John Robert Powers, scholarships from Center for Pop Music, SM Bowling and SM Ice Skating, and gift certificates from Toy Kingdom and SM Storyland.
The event also brought them together with the SM Little Stars winners from China. Hu Xinrui and Yuan Xi of SM Xiamen; Yuan Niman and Gong Lei of SM Jinjiang; Liu Siqi and Yang Chenglin of SM Chengdu; and Fan Ziyu and Jin Gaojie of SM Suzhou showcased their talents during the grand gala.
