MANILA, Philippines - The Child Protection Network (CPN) Foundation is organizing the fourth Manila Conference for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect Ako Para Sa Bata 2012 with the theme Battling BAD Behaviors: Enabling Adults to Respond Positively and Effectively to Children to be held on Dec. 5 to 7 at the SMX Convention Center, Pasay City. More than 1,000 delegates from all over the country are expected to attend the conference for the children.
Last year, the Manila Conference, with its theme, Creating Safe and Caring Environment for Children, focused on proactive and positive messages.
This year’s conference will seek to explain the context of behaviors of children and adolescents, the causes of such behaviors, the various ways to the behavior, and guidelines to prevent escalation of the “bad” behavior.
“We have programmed our workshops in such a way that the participants will gain awareness from a balanced approach covering the various subjects that means so much for properly understanding our children today. Understanding behaviors and knowing how to respond appropriately has become a complex matter that will be thoroughly discussed in our conference this year,” said chairperson Dr. Stella Manalo.
“We are anticipating this to be the largest conference for the child ever put together in Manila. Our program has slowly penetrated the various key cities around the country and more and more attendees are expecting to come from out of town,” Manalo added.
