WWII traveling exhibit goes to Pampanga
MANILA, Philippines - In time for the 258th Founding Anniversary of San Fernando City, the multi-awarded PVB Traveling WWII Exhibit is back again, this time in the city’s historic railway station. It is a joint project of the City of San Fernando, Pampanga, Philippine Veterans Bank (PVB), the Department of Education (DepED) and the Veterans Federation of the Philippines (VFP). The exhibit is open to the public until Sept. 16 and is free of charge. Titled War of our Fathers, the exhibit has hundreds of vintage World War II photographs, artifacts and memorabilia on display. The exhibit was formally opened last Aug. 29 by San Fernando Mayor Oscar Rodriguez (photo, with schoolchildren). Also present was PVB VP for corporate communications Mike Villa-Real. The old railway station was restored by the city government and was the site where the Filipino and American soldiers of the Death March were carted to in 1942.
