Greenhills for rich and poor

- The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines – Greenhills Shopping Complex is serving as a familiar landmark in the San Juan-Mandaluyong area and a bargain mecca catering to people from all walks of life. Familiar here are bargain hunters who frequent also other flea markets from other parts of the metropolis.

“I often see here showbiz personalities, top government officials, well-known names in sports, media and business. When the Queen of Spain visited the Philippines, she was spotted in Greenhils to buy pearls incognito. Even former US Ambassador Kenny Christie and with some relatives and friends from the US were seen here,” said Albert Castro, project coordinator of PATEPCO.

“Not only the ordinary shoppers but also famous personalities in entertainment, government, business, sports, media and other sectors are shopping in Greenhills,” he added.

Castro said the poor and the rich like to shop in Greenhills because it offers the variety of affordable goods and boost of convenience, accessibility and safety not found in other low-end bargain centers.

Prominent personalities enjoy shopping in Greenhills because they are considered ordinary shoppers unlike in other shopping malls wherein they are distracted by other shoppers and sales persons..

Greenhills Shopping Complex is the venue for the 19th Philippine Annual Antique Show from Sept. 14 to Oct. 8. It will be participated by almost 2,000 exhibitors to showcase their products, wares and services. The event observes the 100th year evolution of arts, antiques, furniture and furnishing in the Philippines.

The celebration is in cooperation with the Philippine Nurmismatic and Antiquarium Society, Bank Notes Society of the Philippines, Bayanihan Collectors Club, Inc. and Greenhills Antiques Dealers Group.
